RenderSoft CamStudio 2.0

If you often make a documentation about your work, or maybe you like make tutorials about something. And when you feel boring to write many tutorial by type on the keyboard, maybe you should try to make it on video format. So, you can easily record your documentation or your tutorials. Just do your work or tutorials, and when you finish your work / tutorials, so your video tutorials was finished.

Maybe you are ever hear about software to do this. And I say Camtasia…… huh, it’s so expensive and that’s not free. So I should choose an application that I can get it by free. CamStudio…...!!! Ya….. an opensource software to record all activity on our desktop. An opensource software that developed by RenderSoft. You can look the screenshoot below.


















You can look that, on the cover application, you can read OPENSOURCE,……… and you can download this software direct from CamStudio home site, because CamStudio if freeware.

RenderSoft CamStudio is a tool to recording your activity on the screen to AVI format. Move your mouse, drag item, copy, click, and all activity on your desktop can recorded by CamStudio.















System requirement to run RenderSoft CamStudio is :

  • Microsoft Windows 95, 98, Me, NT 4.0, 2000, and XP
  • At least 400 MHz processor
  • 64 MB of RAM recommended
  • 4 MB hard disk space for program installation

If you read the system requirement, it’s possible to run RenderSoft CamStudio using old machine. And it’s freeware, you can download it, and use it by as you like. And with low system requirement, RenderSoft CamStudio have many feature, that is :

  • Demonstrate features of a new software .
  • Create movies used in user trainings .
  • Track the progress of a program that executes for a long time.
  • Record the sequence of steps that cause the occurrence of bugs in faulty software.
  • Record a movie stream.
  • Convert AVI files to Flash (SWF) files.
  • Many option that you can modify or setting.
  • Have many screen annotations, to add captions to your screen during recording.
  • Also have video annotations, but this require webcam to be installed on your system.
