SCILAB 5.1

Scilab is a freeware that develop to compute numeric and data visualization. First time, Scilab was developed by INRIA and ANPC, France, and now Scilab development and maintenance is doing by Scilab. The Scilab Home Site is http://www.scilab.org.
The excellent from Scilab is FREEWARE and can run on many Operating System such as Windows, Mac OS/X, Unix, and Linux.

If you familiar with MATLAB in Microsoft Windows, you can easily learn Scilab. The User Interface from Scilab is like MATLAB. Not too different. But, MATLAB need more resources to run it. Like on MATLAB, Scilab also have many tools to do simulation.

Scilab feature :

  • 2-D and 3-D graphics, animation
  • Linear algebra, sparse matrices
  • Polynomials and rational functions
  • Interpolation, approximation
  • Simulation: ODE solver and DAE solver
  • Scicos: a hybrid dynamic systems modeler and simulator
  • Classic and robust control, LMI optimization
  • Differentiable and non-differentiable optimization
  • Signal processing
  • Metanet: graphs and networks
  • Parallel Scilab
  • Statistics
  • Interface with Computer Algebra: Maple package for Scilab code generation
  • Interface with Fortran, Tcl/Tk, C, C++, Java, LabVIEW
  • And a large number of contributions for various domains.
So, get free for Scilab.
